I’ve been trying to quit soda for years, so I started to make note of some of the best soda alternatives. If you’re looking for something that’s not soda and has bubbles and/or flavor, you came to the right place.

True Lime Black Cherry Limeade

I’m not the biggest fan of the adding-powder-to-flavor-up-water craze, but True Lime is the exception.

My favorite is the Black Cherry Limeade, which tastes like a not-too-sweet Kool Aid for adults, and the ingredients aren’t too shabby—lime juice, ascorbic acid, sugar, Stevia, black cherry flavor, and beet and grape juice. If I’m wanting just a slightly subtle sweet fix, I’ll split a packet of True Lime to make it last for two servings. The only thing True Lime’s Black Cherry Limeade lacks is that bubbly carbonation, but hey, it’s way healthier than the alternative.

I didn’t bring up True Lime’s other flavors, but you can try out a sample pack if you like. Black Cherry Limeade is the best, but Original Lemonade and Limeade are pretty good too. (I’d skip the Mango Orange and Peach Lemonade though,)

La Croix Sparkling Water

I feel a little silly adding La Croix here, because it’s already ubiquitous, but hey, whatever… it’s good. Really! Drink LA Croix enough and you’ll come to like it.

I especially dig the Grapefruit, or the Pamplemousse. I should also add that the best place to get La Croix is Costco or Winco, if you have one nearby. You can still order it online if you don’t want to leave your house, but it will cost a few extra dollars. (Hmm… but I guess it costs a few dollars to head to the store, so it’s up to you in the end.)

Zevia Naturally Sweetened Soda

Zevia doesn’t taste like real soda, but it may provide some relief to cola junkies like myself. If I slam a Zevia Cola,  I don’t feel like hot garbage for the next few hours like I would with Pepsi or Coca Cola.

Zevia ingredients are by no means amazing, but there’s no aspartame, caramel coloring, or high-fructose corn syrup. It’s got bubbles and an alternative sweeteners so it’s good enough to make this list.

As for recommendations, my top three Zevia drinks are Cherry Cola,  Original Cola, and Mountain Zevia. The last one is supposed to taste like Mountain Dew, which — surprise — it doesn’t, but I do have a weird fondness for it. It’s kind of like a poor man’s Mountain Dew, which sounds awful, but really isn’t too bad.
